Comme toute autre intervention chirurgicale, les implants dentaires comportent également des risques. Dans cet article, je vous parlerai du plus grand risque que vous voudrez certainement éviter à tout prix. En seulement quelques minutes vous allez acquérir les compétences qui vous permettront d’identifier et d’éviter ce risque.
Ces derniers temps, nous sommes entrés dans de nombreuses discussions en ligne avec pas mal de personnes qui prétendent que d’autres cliniques (le plus souvent localisées en grande majorité en Turquie) coûtent beaucoup « moins chères ». Par conséquent, ces personnes les perçoivent comme étant meilleures sans tenir compte des risques que leur choix peut entraîner. Dans cet article, je tiens à apporter une précision : il est rare de pouvoir profiter d’une bonne affaire en matière d’implantation dentaire sans compromette les avantages à long terme pour la santé.
Ne vous méprenez pas : toutes les cliniques de Turquie, de Bulgarie, de Hongrie, d’Allemagne, du Royaume-Uni et d’ailleurs ne suivent pas de mauvais protocoles. De même que toutes ne suivent pas de bons protocoles, non plus. Il y a de « bonnes et mauvaises cliniques dentaires » partout. L’astuce pour éviter le risque de devenir victime des mauvaises cliniques consiste à apprendre à les reconnaître.
La tentation de dire « oui »
Imaginez que vous dirigiez une nouvelle clinique dentaire avec tous ses investissements et ses dépenses. Dans ce scénario imaginaire, vous recevez une demande d’implants dentaires de la part d’une patiente potentielle en France, appelée Anne. Anne vous demande un devis. Bien évidemment, vous voulez donner une impression professionnelle, donc vous lui réclamer une radiographie (bien qu’elle ne signifie presque rien dans le protocole d’implantation !). Anne vous en envoie une qui prouve le mauvais état de ses dents. Voici le moment délicat pour vous et votre dilemme moral : opterez-vous pour l’honnêteté et la morale humaine ou pour l’argent ? En effet, une radiographie ne permet pratiquement pas de prouver s’il existe suffisamment d’os de la mâchoire pour l’implantation. Vous savez désormais que l’absence d’os signifie qu’il ne peut pas y avoir d’implant. Du moins, ceci devrait toujours être le diagnostic dans un monde idéal…
Bien sûr, vous savez qu’Anne s’est déjà renseignée auprès de plus de cinq autres cliniques et que vous devez vous dépêcher. Imaginons que vous soyez contraint par les dépenses de votre entreprise et que vous décidiez de ne pas tenir compte de ce que vous avez appris à l’université dentaire. Vous avez besoin d’Anne et de son potentiel de plus de 5000 euros/GBP. Vous devez gagner la cliente alors vous lui envoyez une offre de prix ALL-ON-6 incroyablement basse pour les deux mâchoires. Vous savez qu’une offre pareille ne peut que rarement être surpassée par d’autres cliniques. Au fond de vous, vous espérez seulement qu’Anne reste malgré tout bonne pour les implants…
Voilà le début des ennuis pour Anne ! Elle se laisse séduire par votre belle voix et accepte votre offre avec vol, hôtel, transfert et repas gratuits. En un mot, tout ce qu’elle veut gratuitement. Anne vient à la clinique confiante que les médecins respectent leur serment d’Hippocrate. Anne n’a malheureusement jamais entendu parlé des protocoles d’implantation dentaire. Beaucoup de cliniques diront que c’est son erreur, pas la leur. Elle arrive à la clinique. Vous lui présentez la version la plus sympathique de vous. Vous découvrez par le moyen d’un scanner 3D CBCT qu’Anne n’a pas assez d’os stable dans sa mâchoire (ce qui arrive dans environ 50 % des cas). Par conséquent, elle n’est pas une bonne candidate pour des implants dentaires ! Oh non, pas de chance… que décidez-vous ?
Si vous décidez de lui dire la vérité vous risquer de la décevoir grandement. Pour la dédommager, vous devrez lui payer le vol, l’hôtel et tout le reste, autrement elle sera très déçue et peut-être même en colère ?
Si vous décidez de lui cacher les faits et de courir le risque injustifié de poser les implants, Anne finira probablement avec des infections et d’importantes complications à l’avenir ?
Rappelez-vous que vous saviez bien avant l’arrivé d’Anne dans votre clinique qu’elle n’était peut-être pas apte à recevoir des implants dentaires. Malgré ça, vous lui avez quand même envoyé cette « excellente » offre pour une restauration dentaire complète de la mâchoire (ALL-ON-4/6). Vous saviez parfaitement dans quoi vous vous engagiez… et maintenant vous devez terminer ce qui a été commencé. Alors, vous décidez de poser ces implants. Quelques heures plus tard, vous posez les implants dentaires pour Anne qui en est toute heureuse. Après un jour ou deux, vous lui mettez ses nouvelles dents. Vous lui souriez en espérant que les complications et les problèmes pour elle ne reviendront pas trop vite… Croyez-moi, vous ne voulez pas vous retrouver à la place d’Ann.
Malheureusement, le scénario d’Anne représente un cas bien concret !
Revenons maintenant à la réalité… Pour les besoins de cet article, j’ai contacté au hasard quelques cliniques qui faisaient de la publicité sur Facebook. Impressionnante ces publicités d’ailleurs… certaines étaient vraiment pas chères aussi. Trois personnes sur quatre y ont répondu « oui » ! Voici comment s’est déroulée ma conversation (voir la capture d’écran ci-dessous) :
Vous remarquez le « oui » ?!!! Ils m’ont proposé une restauration ALL-ON-6 (avec une structure fixée sur 6 implants) pour les deux mâchoires. Pas une seule condition, aucune garantie ou hésitation ! Parfait ! Mon père va enfin avoir des dents fixes à nouveau… La vérité est que ce ne sera probablement pas pour longtemps… À moins que cette clinique ne découvre une avancée exclusive dans le domaine de la dentisterie…
Lors d’un appel téléphonique avec l’une de ces cliniques, la conseillère à l’autre bout du fil m’a dit qu’ils ne proposaient pas de couronnes en zircone sur des implants, ce qui en réalité « ne devrait jamais être le cas et si d’autres cliniques me le proposent, c’est qu’elles m’escroquent ». (Pardon ?!!) De plus, la conseillère m’a informé que mon deuxième séjour devrait être de 10 jours, ce qui m’a amené à penser que la clinique ne disposait pas de laboratoire interne. Dans ce cas de figure, ils doivent faire appel à un tiers, ce qui n’est jamais bon. Mais certains affirmerons que tout cela est secondaire. Le principal est de noter qu’ils ont décidé de prendre mon argent sans se soucier de ma santé.Voici un autre exemple : cliquez ici pour accéder à la capture d’écran. Il est amusant de constater que cette fois-ci, la même radiographie a donné un « diagnostic » différent : les dents doivent être enlevées et 8 implants seront posés juste après l’extraction (Quel horreur !), Dans le cadre du protocole d’implan, une telle pratique n’est généralement pas possible. Cela ne fait que prouver ce que j’ai expliqué précédemment : la radiographie ne constitue pas une bonne base pour la planification d’un traitement d’implantation dentaire au détriment du patient.
En outre, les cliniques ont souvent tendance à parler de la marque des implants plutôt que de la marque du zircone (le matériau le plus courant dans les restaurations dentaires). Le zircone bon marché peut coûter dix fois moins cher que le zircone de qualité. Cliquez ici pour en savoir plus. Une barre de titane peut s’avérer parfois nécessaire, ce qui augmente encore le prix. D’autre part, le zircone, bien que populaire, ne représente pas toujours le meilleur matériau pour la restauration dentaire complète de la mâchoire (ALL-ON-4/6), car il est plus lourd et moins flexible que le G-CAM par exemple. Je signifie par là qu’il y a beaucoup plus à prendre en compte que la simple restauration « ALL-ON-4 » même si de nombreuses cliniques préfèrent garder le silence à ce sujet. Malheureusement, dans la majorité des cas, le client-patient ordinaire n’en est pas conscient. Il devient alors une proie facile.
Les cliniques qui travaillent avec de faibles marges bénéficiaires ont en principe plus de difficulté à dire « NON » (annoncer une mauvaise nouvelle) aux patients. Même si tous ne le font pas, ne vous méprenez pas, la probabilité que la clinique dise « OUI » est plus élevée ! Ces cliniques sont restraintes par la baisse des revenus et chaque patient en attente est crucial pour maintenir un flux de revenus régulier. Le secteur médical nécessite des investissements considérables, une main-d’œuvre coûteuse, de gros budgets de marketing et des équipes de vente flexibles. Trouver un équilibre entre tous ces éléments constitue la clé de la survie d’une entreprise.
Ne doutez pas qu’une analyse minutieuse d’un scanner 3D soit le seul et unique test nécessaire pour justifier votre traitement d’implant. Un scanner 3D ne ment jamais pour cause d’intérêts commercials. Son pronostic reste dans tous les cas très objectif : soit vous avez suffisamment d’os, soit vous n’en avez pas. Bien sûr, il arrive dans certains cas qu’une greffe osseuse puisse être réalisée, mais la probabilité de succès de cette dernière s’avère rarement élevée. (Cliquez ici pour lire la suite). En 2012, l’ Académie américaine de radiologie orale et maxillo-faciale (AAOMR) a publié une prise de position originale « selon laquelle le scanner 3D CBCT représente la méthode d’imagerie de choix pour l’évaluation de tous les positionnements d’implants dentaires » après avoir évalué toutes les méthodes de radiologie utilisées dans les traitements dentaires.Cliquez ici pour accéder à la référence du texte original.).
Dans le cas de notre clinique, Sofia Implant Centre, vous entendrez tous nos consultants dire que nous aurons besoin d’un scanner 3D avant de confirmer votre traitement. Nous sommes toujours à la recherche d’un bon équilibre entre le prix et ce que nous offrons. Nous ne sommes pas les moins chers. Nous n’avons ni le désir ni le besoin de l’être de toute façon. Selon nous, le prix vient en second plan par rapport à nos efforts pour offrir un service d’excellente qualité. Le message que nous adressons aux patients reste toujours le même : votre santé à long terme est au centre de toutes nos décisions et de tout ce que nous faisons. Nous sommes conscients que cela crée parfois des frictions, car il n’est jamais facile d’annoncer une mauvaise nouvelle. Nous continuerons à dire « NON » dans les cas où aucune justification médicale n’existe. Nous nous engageons à ne jamais, au grand jamais, poser d’implant en cas de manque d’os. À notre avis, il s’agit de la bonne solution.
Ce que vous devez retenir de tout ça
Il faut savoir qu’aucune clinique, ni aucun médecin ne peut honnêtement vous dire qu’ils peuvent poser des implants avant d’avoir analysé votre scan 3D CBCT. S’ils affirment qu’ils peuvent vous offir un traitement sans, prenez vos jambes à votre cou, même s’il s’agit d’une offre bon marché. Si vous optez simplement pour le « bon marché », vous risquez de payer beaucoup plus cher à l’avenir, non seulement en termes d’argent liquide, mais aussi en termes de temps et de souffrance. Ne pas suivre le bon protocole d’implantation constitue le plus grand risque que vous prenez. C’est pourquoi vous devez savoir comment le reconnaître. Le terme « bon marché » ne fait qu’augmenter les risques.

I had full upper and lower all on six implant treatment at the Sofia Implant Centre in February 2026, followed by permanent zirconium bridges in August. The results are exceptional — my smile looks fantastic and I can eat normally again. My thanks to Dr Rafid Hussain, the head surgeon, for the outstanding surgical work, and to Dr Ogur Inal, who fitted my zirconium bridges with real precision and care. I also want to give special thanks to Kris George my Consultant, who managed to secure me an appointment at the last minute when the Centre was fully booked. I recently visited Sofia Implant Centre for a check-up of my All-on-4 implants, which I had completed there 3 years ago, and my experience continues to reward me for choosing their excellent services. My consultant this time, Diyan Shkodrov, was extremely helpful with booking the hotel and arranging my transfer, along with the sweetest clinic guide at the airport, whose name I unfortunately forgot. My meeting during the check-up with dental specialist Dr Kliment Bekiarov, who was also responsible for creating my final smile, was as always very warm, welcoming, and full of positive energy. He was more than willing to answer all my questions, and the check-up showed that everything was flawless. Sofia Implant Centre is one of the most modern and top-quality dental clinics, adhering to the highest European standards with excellent equipment, impeccable cleanliness, and outstanding organised patient care. Everyone on staff—from the drivers and receptionists to the nurses, consultants, and doctors—is dedicated and highly specialised in their role. The system works seamlessly, inspiring trust, organisation, and professionalism. I greatly appreciate the doctors' honesty and ethics, which clearly outweigh short-term profit, as well as their detailed transparency. This was evident in the meeting following the panoramic X-ray to determine the treatment plan. My case was particularly challenging for All-on-4 in the upper jaw due to my very thin bone structure, which carried the risk that the implants might not integrate after the multiple extractions required. The decision was ultimately mine on whether to proceed. My consultant at the time, Lina—a Greek woman raised in Bulgaria—was always willing to explain, advise, and support me on a personal level throughout our communication, from start to finish. So, I decided to take the leap, go ahead with the extractions (which had to be done eventually anyway), and move forward with the implants. The surgery was a success, and everything went perfectly thanks to the surgeon and the nurse assistant. It was a long and thorough procedure that required delicate handling, expertise, and, of course, patience from all of us. My bone was thin but dense and strong. I mention this because while an X-ray may show available bone, it cannot always reveal its actual quality or density. The follow-up process was very satisfying, both for my temporary teeth and especially for the final set, where we used Digital Smile Design simulations. Dr Kliment Bekiarov carefully listened to and discussed all my preferences regarding the shape, size, and colour of my teeth. As a result, I now have a wonderful, natural-looking smile that feels completely my own. They are fully functional, and the total cost was significantly lower than it would have been in Greece. The clinic is fabulous and you're well cared for throughout the whole process and I would highly recommend Sofia Implant Centre. They arrange airport pick up, provide details of nearby hotel accommodation and free clinic driver to collect you from your hotel to the clinic and back for all appointments. The only reason I have given 4 stars is because despite the colour of my implants being lightened, I'm still not happy with the colour and could do nothing about it as it was my final fitting.

From early stages inquiry Kris talked me through the process booked my flights and Sofia implant centre did the rest got to choose my hotel which this you pay yourself but get a discount via the clinic. All the transfers to and from the clinic was taken care of. All the staff were professional and welcoming went over my plan after 3d cray everything was explained and the costs were broken down. All medication was provided pain, antibiotics and vitamin c all to help with the healing process. At the end of a week of treatment I was fitted with my temporary teeth after agreeing color and size for 6 months then back for my permanent. Thank you to all the team from the drivers to the surgeons and everyone else like receptionists and nurses. The centre is kept immaculately clean and got shown round the centre even the lab in house that make the teeth. Definitely recommended it.

my journey at Sofia implant started in 2024 , I had a negligent dentist in the UK and ended up with severe gum disease . I contacted various dentists abroad Sofia implant center was the only one who was interested in saving as many of my own teeth as possible .I spoke to Kris who co ordinated everything from start to Finnish including booking hotels arranging for me to be picked up from the airport and he was always there if I needed anything .Dr Hussain extracted the bad teeth also he is a maxillofacial surgeon who repaired a scar on my lip for which I am eternally grateful for . I decided to have the guided implants ,Dr Patchev put them in for me , this wasn't pain free but was bearable and everything was explained to me .For the next part I was under Dr Jana who fitted the teeth onto the implants all on 5 top 4 implants on bottom and 6 crowns .All was finished in Dec 25 I am extremely happy with the outcome so a massive big thanks to everyone who treated me the front desk staff and the drivers bobby and angel .Since returning to the UK I have visited their Stockport branch for a little correction , to anyone who is considering implants ,Sophia implant center is second to none. An extra thank you to Kris who went above and beyond . Sofia implant center is a very professional state of the art center ,I would highly recommend them thank you again for my new smile 😁

I had all on 4 on the top,and a full set of crowns on the bottom. This is a super modern,well equipped and staffed dental hospital,where every part of your treatment is done by a specialist. The whole experience is perfect,from the booking to the organisation by the receptionists,and consultants,to the actual treatment itself. Yes I would absolutely recommend Sofia implant centre.

2 Years ago I visit Sofia Implant for first time for major dental work .From my first contact with Kriss over the phone and Mariela at the reception for all arrangments, the special care from dr.R.Taskova and specialy dr.K.Bekiarov -I had great service and care .Overall I found price very reasonable and good quality for work and materials. I visit for check in -all went great at no cost to me.

I have just had my first stage of treatment completed (crowns) as well as root canal treatments and fillings. I am very impressed with the service I have received so far. I am very anxious around dental treatment due to bad experiences in London however, my dental surgeon made me very comfortable and provided a pain free treatment. Vous remarquez le « oui » ?!!! Ils m’ont proposé une restauration ALL-ON-6 (avec une structure fixée sur 6 implants) pour les deux mâchoires. Pas une seule condition, aucune garantie ou hésitation ! Parfait ! Mon père va enfin avoir des dents fixes à nouveau… La vérité est que ce ne sera probablement pas pour longtemps… À moins que cette clinique ne découvre une avancée exclusive dans le domaine de la dentisterie…
Ne doutez pas qu’une analyse minutieuse d’un scanner 3D soit le seul et unique test nécessaire pour justifier votre traitement d’implant. Un scanner 3D ne ment jamais pour cause d’intérêts commercials. Son pronostic reste dans tous les cas très objectif : soit vous avez suffisamment d’os, soit vous n’en avez pas. Bien sûr, il arrive dans certains cas qu’une greffe osseuse puisse être réalisée, mais la probabilité de succès de cette dernière s’avère rarement élevée.
