Bij patiënten zonder tanden en kiezen verandert de beet in de loop der tijd en het plaatsen van implantaten, tanden en kiezen vereist speciale vaardigheden en veel ervaring. Een verkeerde planning kan leiden tot onaangename bijwerkingen zoals migraine.
Om de juiste beet te bepalen wordt begonnen met een grondig onderzoek door een specialist. Er worden digitale foto’s gemaakt en visualisatiesoftware gebruikt. Samen met het tandtechnisch laboratorium wordt een apparaat gebruikt dat de individuele bewegingen van de kaak van de patiënt registreert en nabootst – de zogenaamde gezichtsboog en een articulator met specifieke waarden. Dit proces maakt het mogelijk prothetische structuren te vervaardigen met een anatomische vorm die zo dicht mogelijk bij die van natuurlijke tanden ligt en voorkomt het optreden van onjuist contact tussen kunstmatige en natuurlijke tanden (indien aanwezig), wat een van de belangrijkste oorzaken is van het breken van metaalkeramische en volledig keramische structuren. Deze planningsmethode wordt voornamelijk gebruikt bij grote brugconstructies, maar in bepaalde gevallen ook bij de vervaardiging van kronen en uitneembare prothesen. Het maken van een voorlopige wax-up (hars-model) helpt bij het plannen en voorspellen van het esthetische resultaat van de nieuwe constructie.
Het meten van de beet is een belangrijke stap in uitgebreide tandheelkundige restauraties, en het is belangrijk om te vertrouwen op professionals met ervaring.

I had full upper and lower all on six implant treatment at the Sofia Implant Centre in February 2026, followed by permanent zirconium bridges in August. The results are exceptional — my smile looks fantastic and I can eat normally again. My thanks to Dr Rafid Hussain, the head surgeon, for the outstanding surgical work, and to Dr Ogur Inal, who fitted my zirconium bridges with real precision and care. I also want to give special thanks to Kris George my Consultant, who managed to secure me an appointment at the last minute when the Centre was fully booked. All the staff were friendly, supportive, and highly professional throughout my treatment. I couldn’t be happier with the experience or the final result. Highly recommended.
