People are often confused by the load of information on the Internet about complete dental restorations. Therefore, in this post we will point out the three most important steps that must be done for a successful All-on-4/6 treatment.
1. This is the CBCT (or 3D scan) examination!
This is the one and only procedure that gives a clear idea of the correct position and size of the implants. Therefore, be sure to ask your surgeon for a comment on your CBCT 3D scan.. (details here)
2. This is the use of a temporary fixed denture.
The temporary teeth structure is fixed over the implants in the same way as the final one, and is needed for the time your gums recover from the surgery – in about 6 months. After this period, the temporary teeth are replaced with the final ones, often made of another material (like zirconium) and which will properly fit over the healed gums. This way there will be no gap between the teeth and your gums. We list the temporary denture on 2-nd place because we have seen cases where this step had been skipped.
3. This is the use of surgical guides during the surgery. Without going into details in this post – this is the way to prevent human error during the implant surgery. (details here)
